The shapes in his paintings suggest things like woven fabric\, stained glass\, or even the pathways of the brain — forms that can bring people together and keep them apart at the same time. The places where color fades or a line cracks open aren’t mistakes. They’re invitations to look deeper. Figures have begun to appear in the work as well — not as portraits\, but as emotional presences. They rise out of the patterns around them and fade back into them\, much the way people can feel both close and distant at the same time. \nThe title Both Can Be True says it simply: connection and separation\, memory and the present moment\, uncertainty and hope can all exist at once. The work doesn’t try to choose between them. It just makes room for all of it. Audia has spent more than two decades teaching art and mentoring young artists. SUMMARY:Raystown Summer Nights
DESCRIPTION:Raystown Summer Nights is a series of summer events at the Seven Points Amphitheater at Lake Raystown. \nThe third event is Saturday\, August 8\, featuring the Eric Ian Farmer Trio\, from 6 to 9 p.m. \nBorn in State College\, Pennsylvania\, and raised in North Carolina\, Eric Ian Farmer\, a Black man with Blackfeet and Cherokee heritage\, has returned to his birthplace sharing his songs about relationships\, social awareness\, and finding one’s path in life while keeping alive classics by artists like Marvin Gaye\, Otis Redding\, and Bob Marley.  Eric learned the practice of becoming one with a song from Bonnie Carter and David Williams\, singers in the church of his childhood just across the North Carolina state line in Danville\, Virginia.  A bass in tenor’s clothing\, Eric also draws inspiration as a singer from popular artists like Bobby McFerrin\, Stevie Wonder\, and Jimmy Hayes (The Persuasions).  And his guitar playing is inspired by the percussive stylings of rock legend Bo Diddley. \nEric has opened or played pre-shows for the Soweto Gospel Choir\, Bettye LaVette\, Luciane Dom\, and Rusted Root; performed at Musikfest (Bethlehem PA); and served on the faculty at Folk College (Juniata College\, Huntingdon PA). \nEric completed his doctorate at Penn State University’s College of Education.  You sometimes can find him in classrooms singing songs and talking with young folks about songwriting and issues related to identity. \nThe events feature live music\, activities\, and food. \nWhile the event is free\, donations are collected for the musicians.

DESCRIPTION:Set in the Armadillo Acres trailer park\, the story centers on Norbert and Jeannie\, a couple whose marriage has stalled due to Jeannie’s twenty-year bout of agoraphobia. Their routine is upended when Pippi\, a stripper on the run\, moves in and begins a scandalous affair with Norbert. \nAs a trio of resident busybodies acts as a Greek chorus\, the arrival of Pippi’s obsessive\, magic-marker-sniffing ex-boyfriend\, Duke\, threatens to tear the park apart. The resulting chaos eventually forces Jeannie to step outside her trailer\, leading to a hilarious and heartfelt resolution about love\, risk\, and forgiveness. \n“The Great American Trailer Park Musical” runs August 21-23 and August 28-30.
