SUMMARY:Multitudes Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Leah Shuck’s solo exhibition Multitudes explores the intersectionality of her roles as both artist and art educator. The show represents how the constant rotation of materials in her high school art classroom influences her personal art-making practice. In reference to her art style\, Shuck has said\, “Don’t try to put me in a box; I’ll just use it to make more art.”\n\nShuck is an award-winning\, multidisciplinary artist with frequent shows across the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Her art practice focuses heavily on sustainability\, reusing and upcycling materials whenever possible. Shuck maintains an active sketchbook practice\, recently completed a series of watercolor commissions to be compiled into a poetry book\, is a featured artist at the Carnegie Coffee Company\, and has had her work featured on CBS Sunday Morning four times. Shuck is a member and serves as the secretary of both The West Hills Art League and The Pennsylvania Art Education Association. She is also a member of the North Hills Art Center and frequently takes classes at Touchstone Center for Crafts.\n\nShe finds motivation and inspiration in these creative communities for herself both personally and professionally. Shuck started her career at Altoona Junior High School before moving to teach at West Allegheny High School\, where she has worked for the last twelve years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Art Education K-12 from Seton Hill University in 2012\, her Master of Education in Art Education K-12 from Carlow University in 2018\, and her Master of Education in Social-Emotional Learning in 2025. As a 2008 HAHS graduate\, Shuck was thrilled to be invited to show here with the Huntingdon County Council.
