The resulting chaos eventually forces Jeannie to step outside her trailer\, leading to a hilarious and heartfelt resolution about love\, risk\, and forgiveness. \n“The Great American Trailer Park Musical” runs August 21-23 and August 28-30. The shapes in his paintings suggest things like woven fabric\, stained glass\, or even the pathways of the brain — forms that can bring people together and keep them apart at the same time. The places where color fades or a line cracks open aren’t mistakes. They’re invitations to look deeper. Figures have begun to appear in the work as well — not as portraits\, but as emotional presences. They rise out of the patterns around them and fade back into them\, much the way people can feel both close and distant at the same time. \nThe title Both Can Be True says it simply: connection and separation\, memory and the present moment\, uncertainty and hope can all exist at once. The work doesn’t try to choose between them. It just makes room for all of it. Audia has spent more than two decades teaching art and mentoring young artists. That spirit of patience and openness comes through in every piece. \nThe exhibit will be on display from August 6 to September 5\, with an opening reception on August 6 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Do you enjoy listening to traditional music? \n\n\nCome join the acoustic music jam at the Huntingdon County Arts Center every first Monday of the month. \n\n\nWe’ll sing and play familiar songs and tunes and perhaps learn some new ones. \n\n\nAll acoustic instruments welcome (guitar\, keyboard\, fiddle\, banjo\, mandolin\, squeezebox\, flute\, harmonica\, autoharp\, etc.) \n\n\nWe’ll play in a variety of styles–old time\, bluegrass\, blues\, world\, traditional instrumental dance music\, singer-songwriter\, musicals–you get it\, anything that strikes our fancy. \nJam led by Larry Mutti.

DESCRIPTION:An opening reception will be held for the exhibit\, The Human Form in Bronze\, on Tuesday\, September 8\, from 6 to 8 p.m. \nMichiel VanderSommen has spent decades bringing the human figure to life in sculpture\, and his work speaks for itself. \nHis career took shape early with two landmark commissions: the first Vietnam Veterans Memorial in the USA in 1983\, and a commission by the National Ballet of Canada to sculpt four of their lead dancers. From there\, VanderSommen made the leap to pursue figurative sculpture full time\, a dream he had been building toward through years of teaching\, workshops\, and study\, including a year-long sabbatical in Pietrasanta\, Italy\, one of the world’s great centers for sculptural art. \nHis work has reached audiences far and wide. In 2000\, he was commissioned to create Elvis at 13 for the Elvis Presley Birthplace in Tupelo\, Mississippi\, followed by a second piece\, Becoming\, for the same site in 2012. In recent years\, VanderSommen has focused his energy on commissioned busts and smaller sculptures\, intimate work that puts his skill and attention to detail front and center. \nWhether capturing a young Elvis\, a ballet dancer mid-pose\, or a portrait bust\, VanderSommen’s sculptures share a common thread: a deep respect for the human form and the stories it carries. \nThe exhibit will be on display from September 8 through October 3

DESCRIPTION:Michiel VanderSommen has spent decades bringing the human figure to life in sculpture\, and his work speaks for itself. \nHis career took shape early with two landmark commissions: the first Vietnam Veterans Memorial in the USA in 1983\, and a commission by the National Ballet of Canada to sculpt four of their lead dancers. From there\, VanderSommen made the leap to pursue figurative sculpture full time\, a dream he had been building toward through years of teaching\, workshops\, and study\, including a year-long sabbatical in Pietrasanta\, Italy\, one of the world’s great centers for sculptural art. \nHis work has reached audiences far and wide. In 2000\, he was commissioned to create Elvis at 13 for the Elvis Presley Birthplace in Tupelo\, Mississippi\, followed by a second piece\, Becoming\, for the same site in 2012. In recent years\, VanderSommen has focused his energy on commissioned busts and smaller sculptures\, intimate work that puts his skill and attention to detail front and center. \nWhether capturing a young Elvis\, a ballet dancer mid-pose\, or a portrait bust\, VanderSommen’s sculptures share a common thread: a deep respect for the human form and the stories it carries. \nThe exhibit will be on display from September 8 through October 3

SUMMARY:Camera Club
DESCRIPTION:The Camera Club is an opportunity to make friends with other people interested in photography\, have fun\, and learn from each other. There are no dues. All ages and photo skill levels are welcome. \nThe Camera Club meets the fourth Thursday of the month January through October. The November and December meetings are set each year around Thanksgiving\, the Art Walk\, and Christmas. The Club meets at the Huntingdon County Arts Center\, (formerly the 12th Street Methodist Church)\, corner of 12th & Mifflin St\, Huntingdon at 7:00 pm. Meetings may include speakers with photo shows and interesting photography tips\, group discussions about photo equipment\, techniques\, and/or composition. \nThe club is sponsored by the Huntingdon County Art Council.
